blossomed then withered.
Through night breezes warm
together they shivered.
Soaring, exploring
as petals were shed.
A green thumb massaging
a flower in bed.

David Anderson is co-author (with Sue Ann Belknap) of the children's science book They won't blow up the kitchen will they? He is working on a young adult novel. He lives with his wife Martha and daughter Alice on their mini-ranch (consisting of two pygmy goats and three ducks) near the confluence of the Mary's and Willamette Rivers in Corvallis, Oregon.
