Growing Pains
by Shaun Jex
June 27, 2007
It happened quickly
So at first I thought I missed something
His clothes, which weeks before were new,
No longer fit him
They were folded into neat squares
And placed in card board boxes
Ready to be stacked one on top the other
And placed in a musty storage closet
Maybe someday to be retreived
For a yard sale during spring cleaning
Or donated to a local charity
But certainly forgotten about
By everyone but his mother and I
Who hang new clothing in his closet
Wondering why they have to get so big
And change so often
