Powdermilk Biscuit Band

Powdermilk Band 1978: Adam Granger, Dick Rees, Mary DuShane, and Bob Douglas

A band called the Powdermilk Biscuit Band played regularly on early shows. It's membership gradually evolved: first Bill Hinkley and Judy Larson, sometimes with Dakota Dave Hull, sometimes with Cal Hand on dobro. Fiddler Rudy Darling joined in early 1975. Bob Douglas, mandolin, joined in late 1975. Hinkley and Larson left, replaced by guitarist Adam Granger. Darling moved west, replaced by Mary DuShane in late '76. Dick Rees joined on bass, summer '77. Molly Mason repleced Rees, fall of '78. Tim Henessy for Adam Granger, summer of '79. The Powdermilk Biscuit Band dissolved, re-formed into the New Prairie Ramblers (Douglas, Hennessy, and Peter Ostroushko) in January 1980, joined by bassist Barb Montoro in February.

Replaced by the Butch Thompson Trio the summer of 1980. In later years other regular musical groups formed and re-formed, such as the Coffee Club Orchestra, then the Demitasse Orchestra, Guy's All-Star Shoe Orchestra, and Guy's All-Star Shoe Band.
