This is the Washington Avenue Bridge that spans the Mississippi and connects the East and West Banks of the University. Rumor has it, if you meet at the U of MN and then get married after you graduate, you throw a pair of shoes over the bough of this tree to celebrate. (Photo: Andrea McAvey)
