Donna,
Hope you make it home soon.
We're starting to see the bottom of the peanut butter jar.
— Bubba
Wendell,
It's Saturday afternoon. You're on your back porch in Hotchkiss, Colorado, and I'm in my kitchen in Philadelphia. We're both listening to the radio, having a beer. Who could ask for more?
— Tim
Nancy,
Happy Birthday to Nancy in Fremont, Michigan from your kids in Washington. Wish we could be there, but Mr. Keillor's coming to Fremont instead!
— Gary
Dear Mr. Keillor,
Please say "Hello" to my sister Pam in Chanhassen, Minnesota. She went to the University of Minnesota when you were there in the 1970's. She said that your jokes were corny back then, too.
Thank you.
John Myers
Kate,
Have fun in Rome counting heads to be sure you didn't lose a student on the way to the Colosseum.
— Mom & Dad
Fr. Lewis,
We hope your new knee has a 40,000 mile warranty. Good luck with the rehab.
— Nick and Kathy Crettier
Josie Reiman,

— Phillip

Bernard A. Jocuns, Sr.,
Thank you for the life-long encouaragement and counseling, for yet which I am still to receive a bill!
So many things to thanbk you for: Dick Groat, left of center politics and my love for the law. I also forgot our Lutheran friend Mr. Garrison Keillor.
Your beautiful grandaughter also expresses her gratitude for wonderful and loving grandparents and helping her father become his life-long dream, a trial attorney. Maybe she wil follow her father's path and be a Lithuanian advocate, preserving everyone's rights as an American Citizen.
Dad, not to scare you, but I am also going to become a member of the Minnesota Bar, so maybe I can achieve one of my goals of being a guest on the Prairie Home Companion.
One Love,
Your Son on Memorial Day Weekend at the Wolf Trapp,
Bernard Anthony Jocuns, Jr. (Esquire)
Luke and Susan Koon,

Sign up here for our weekly e-pistle about what's happening at A Prairie Home Companion! Heck, while you're there, sign up for the daily e-mail from The Writer's Almanac too

A national holiday in Lake Wobegon is always gaudy and joyful. But what is going on between Clint Bunsen and Miss Liberty?
Everyone is here—Pastor Ingqvist, the Sons of Knute, Sister Arvonne of Our Lady of Perpetual Responsibility and her ocarina band, the Norwegian bachelor farmers, Dorothy and the Chatterbox Café, Wally in the Sidetrack Tap—as crowds converge on the little town to celebrate American independence, even as the chairman of the event broods on the great question of the day: Shall we struggle on valiantly here or shall we burst the bonds and find beautiful life in the golden west?

Scripts and bits from A Prairie Home Companion celebrate the secret society of men and women who possess excellent spelling and punctuation skills. (You know who you are.)
Selections include "The Six-Minute Hamlet," a tribute to Emily Dickinson, a Guy Noir adventure that exposes an MFA scam, a riveting "Professional Organization of English Majors" drama, and guests Billy Collins, Robert Bly, Roy Blount Jr., and Calvin Trillin.
