To: Tiny Geiger
Dearest Tiny, I wish you a great & wonderful "Happy Birthday" as you will finally have reached the age of reason, 62. This is a good age, one you have reached through passage of simple time, and one in which you still are a 'stud.' (I realize that is what you think you are, and sobeit.') I love you more each day, even though you drive me crazy with your mistaken ideas about what I say. So I speak with forked tongues. Big deal. At least I Communicate. And I am a toucher, two of your prerequesites necessary to be passable to you. Also I am 5 foot nine. So you don't have to bend over. (Which reminds me, how come your first girl friend was a shrimp?) Then I am told that the greatest love of your life was a rather mannish looking woman named Alice. Gee whiz, what was I thinking? Anyhow, you ended up with this simple minded lady who is a few years older than you, and one heck of a lot smarter. At least I don't talk in my sleep....and my name is not Alice, Lynn, or Marian. I know you love me, but so does my dog, and she really means it. Thanks to Garrison Keillor, a master of wit and observation, I have come to regard our circumstances as somewhat of a mystery. What AM I doing here? XxxBerta
—Berta Long Geiger

—Nora Peterson

—Karen Kunow

Congratulations to my son Dan and his new bride Kelly, who were married today (Sept 24th) on Block Island. I thought you would resist getting married after the bad example I set. I couldn't be happier.
