To: Martin Brothers
Hi Dad, You have been listening to Prairie Home Companion since I was a little girl so I know you must be listening now in little old North Salem, New York. I just want you to know I bought you and Mom live tickets to see Mr. Keillor in New York City. "Holy Mackerel," I know. Love, Stephanie.
—Stephanie Brothers

To: Dave
Thanks to Dave, who despite being a despondent Bears fan, plowed us out from a mile-long, five-foot-high drift on Monday morning.
—Rich Stromberg

To: Sam
Greeting for Columbus, OH show on Valentines Day 2007: The past year with you, and planning for our upcoming wedding, has been the best time in my life. And even though you're Catholic, and I'm a Lutheran, this will only help our children understand the real meaning of Uff-Da......
—Chris Laingen

To: Kathleen

—Hannah Casey

To: Garrison
Q. Did you hear about the new brothel in Washington DC? A. They are calling it the "Bush Administration".
—Christopher Minnes (pronounced like Minnesota)

To: Carmen
This is just a note to say that your recent joke show was the ultimate, never-ceasing, and best show I have ever heard. My husband and I, recent empty-nesters, rely on you to fill our Sunday afternoons with the re-broadcast. You will continue to be a part of our ritual, but all other activities ceased during this particular show. Kudos! Concerning the boos in Philadelphia -- dont' worry or bother with that city. In normal cases, the concenus of a crowd will gravitate to goodness, at least what is perceived as goodness ("Julius Caesar" aside). Philadelphia is the only city where a 12-year-old ball girl could be booed, and I wish that were a joke and not something I witnessed. The only way I will ever get to see the Liberty Bell and other treasures of that city is when they go on tour and leave that hell-hole. Don't you ever go back there!
—Carmen Munger

To: Jason
Happy Birthday at the end of the month. Doing it now before I forget. I know you will not be listening to the show because of work or church. Mr Keillor will not even probably play this on his show, so I tried. Greeting to the family in Ohio from your son in Alaska.
—Matthew Stark

To: Sol & Belle Weinstein
Mom & Dad, we're here in Wisconsin where it's 10 below. You just moved to your summer home in Florida. I hear there was a tornado there last week. It's cold here, but, we've still got our house. Hope all is well with you.
—Steve Weinstein

To: Mom and Dad
why do farts stink? so deaf people can enjoy them too
—Nicholas Misak

To: The two school teachers I met while waiting inline to buy tickets to the show
Thanks for your warm company on that cold December morning and don't worry, I'll never tell a soul that you had to play hooky to be there.
—Dave (the guy you thought was homeless) Finstrom
