Last Week's Show // July 26, 2014
This week on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, our summer repeats roll on with a show originally from June 30, 2007 at the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts. James Taylor sings "Everybody Has the Blues," violinist Jaime Laredo and cellist Sharon Robinson play a few tunes composed by Andy Stein, and Inga Swearingen joins Garrison on "I Think of You." In Lake Wobegon, the Hansens' dove-breeding business goes awry.
Videos from our 40th Anniversary Broadcast
Lovingly selected from the earliest archives of A Prairie Home Companion, this heirloom collection represents the music from earliest years of the now legendary show: 1974–1976. With songs and tunes from jazz pianist Butch Thompson, mandolin maestro Peter Ostroushko, Dakota Dave Hull and the first house band, The Powdermilk Biscuit Band (Adam Granger, Bob Douglas and Mary DuShane).
