Buffalo Shuffle
Saturday, December 22, 2001
Listen

It's Saturday and the band is playin,
Hear those dancers gently swayin,
Hold me close, baby, don't let go
And we'll do the shuffle in Buffalo.

December night, the year's almost gone,
Time to press my suit and put my new shoes on,
Going to the Knights of Columbus hall,
Baby, we'll have a ball until Niagara Falls.

Saturday night, a night to cherish,
The sweethearts dance at St. Stanislaus Parish,
Powder your nose, baby, say a novena,
And we'll glide across the floor to the concertina.

How you doin? What the hey?
Father Sobieski in a shiny toupee.
Wonderful music and wonderful food,
No fistfights. Thank you, St. Jude.

I got my new shoes on and a gold watch chain,
And with you on my arm, I'm feeling no pain.
You're my squeeze, you're my happiness,
Dancing Cheektowaga in your Christmas dress.

One more shuffle, let's go round again.
We'll slip the babysitter an extra ten.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
And thank you for the dance, my dear.
