December 11, 2004
Do you hear what I hear? It's our favorite sound-effects men, rehearsing for this Saturday's show at the Fitz: Fred Newman will join Tom Keith
and the Royal Academy of Radio Acting for twice the fun with the
adventures of Guy Noir and others. Musical guests include fiddler and
saxophonist Andy Stein, harmonica player Howard Levy, and more.

 John Edwards |
 |
We caught up with John Edwards (he swears that's his real name) in the lobby just before the December 11 show. He was so excited to be with us, he said he felt like a "high schooler on a first date." Apparently he has a bigger crush on his partner Vicki, though she was stuck back home in Florida, and he was sweet enough to describe everything he was seeing to her on his cell phone.
 Roxanne, Randi & Michelle |
 |
Randi Douglas (center) came all the way from her Portland, Oregon home to visit her daughter Roxanne Young (left) and Roxanne's friend Michelle Besent; the girls recently moved to St. Paul to play broomball. No, seriously: They moved here to play broomball. Welcome to our city, guys, and thanks for bringing mom over for the December 11 show.
 Bill, Sheila & Katie |
 |
Katie Tuma liked her home in St. Paul so much that she convinced her brother, Bill Clements, to move here, too. It turned out perfectly now these siblings work as a team to bring their mom, Sheila Murray (center), west from Chicago for our show. "Can you believe she just turned 70?" they asked us on December 11. No, guys, we can't. Happy birthday, Sheila.
