January 15, 2005
It's been fun to be away, but we're
looking forward to settling back in to our home at the Fitz. Join us
this weekend with the hillbilly band BR549, drummer Peter Johnson, Sally Dworsky (Rich Dworsky's little sister!), and our friends Prudence Johnson and Dan Chouinard. Plus, the Adventures of Guy Noir, the News from Lake Wobegon, and more.

 Steve & Anita |
 |
Steve Lilly, originally of England but now of
St. Francis, Minnesota, and Anita Britton, of Minnetonka, saw our show
for the first time on November 6, on their first date! They were back again on January 15, to celebrate two months together by standing in the Fitz's rush line in subzero temps. Doesn't that just warm your heart?
 Gus & Larry |
 |
Gus Nicoletti (left) came from out east to
visit Larry Schatz in the Twin Cities, and what struck him most about
his visit wasn't the freezing cold weather, but how much Garrison's January 15 News from Lake Wobegon reminded him of being a Boy Scout back in New York City.
 Linda & Mary |
 |
Linda Charlton (left) is from Phoenix. When
she told her husband that she wanted to take a mid-winter trip to the
Twin Cities to visit her friend Mary K. Roberts, he got online to
inquire about tickets to our January 15 show. He opted to skip the trip himself and stay in Arizona, though. We wonder why.
 Brenna & Austin |
 |
You can tell Brenna Murphy grew up in St. Paul (just down the road from Tim Russell, actually): She was wearing the warmest looking coat we saw at the Fitz on January 15 — head-to-toe fur. Here she is with her husband, Austin Ditzler, who bought her tickets for Christmas.
 Tom & Miriam Grady |
 |
See the guy on the right there? That's Garrison's neighbor, Tom Grady, the kind man who fixed the Keillor fence right before Christmas, just out of the goodness of his heart. The lovely lady on the left is Tom's wife Miriam. We were glad to see them both at our show on January 15.
