Listen

Who knows how long I've loved you?
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to, I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Prudence Johnson: My darling: after our honeymoon on Lake of the Woods, I feel that my life has finally begun. What a miracle that I could feel this way ----- dizzy with happiness, in love with life ---- I want nothing more than to be with you as much as possible for the rest of my life.

Garrison Keillor: Love of my life, my soulmate. My other. I feel so fulfilled in you and at the same time, my love for you has opened my heart to others ---- I look at strangers on the street and wish for them the same happiness I have found with you.

GK/PJ: (DEVOTED TO YOU)

Darlin' you can count on me
Till the sun dries up the sea
Until then I'll always be devoted to you
I'll be yours through endless time
I'll adore your charms sublime
Guess by now you know that I'm devoted to you

PJ: Our fifth anniversary, love. Who can believe the years went by so fast? All I want is that you and I can get away and spend a whole wonderful week together, just you and me, just the way you promised.

GK: Darling, love, spending a whole week with you is the thing I want most in this world and if I could just combine that with a stop in Milwaukee and a meeting with some clients---- it'd be perfect.

GK/PJ: (TRUE LOVE)

I give to you and you give to me,
True love, true love.
So on and on it will always be,
True love, true love.

GK: Honey, it was fun last night and thanks for being such a good sport. It meant so much to me that the alumni committee could come to our house for the reception, even though it was your birthday. Thanks. I'm sorry about the wine on the carpet. And on the walls. I'll call the carpet cleaners.

PJ: Jack, I wanted to be here for our anniversary but it's the weekend of the big women's barbershop tournament in Winnipeg so I'm going with my barbershop quartet, the Four Flushers. I left six pizzas in the freezer. Please don't drink too much.

GK/PJ: (DREAM DREAM DREAM)

When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

PJ: I have to ask you about the intern, Jack. When I walked into your office on Tuesday, she was leaning over you and you were absolutely hyperventilating. Is something wrong? Are you happy?

GK: Honey, of course I'm happy. Why would you think otherwise? I'm perfectly happy. And I'm all in favor of a trip with you to France. There's a golf course outside Marseilles that I've always wanted to play. By chance, my brother Joe and his girlfriend Dorene will be in Europe at the same time. Would you mind? I don't think you've met her. She's a singer. I'm sure you'll like her.

GK/PJ: (TRUE LOVE)

I give to you and you give to me,
True love, true love.
So on and on it will always be,

PJ: The Four Flushers are going to San Diego next week, so I'm going to have to miss the anniversary again. By the way, I smelled something strange in the shower this morning? You don't---- you know? I mean, you don't do that, do you?

GK: Hi. I'm on my way to Seattle. Saw an article in the newspaper about you and your quartet winning the trophy. Congratulations. I just wish we saw more of each other.

PJ: We're busy. What can we do?

GK: I don't know. Where are you next weekend?

PJ: Morris.

GK: Oh. Where is that?

PJ: Out west of here.

GK: Okay. Well, have fun. See you around.

GK/PJ: (I Will, bridge and end)

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
Ah, you know I will
I will
