June 17, 2006
This week we'll follow the Mississippi into the land of Lincoln and bring you a big show from the Ravinia Music Festival, in Highland Park, Illinois. With special guests, archetypal string ensemble, the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra, Chicago's own singer-songwriter Alice Peacock, gifted instrumentalist and composer Peter Ostroushko, and the warbling voices of eternal optimism, the Hopeful Gospel Quartet, with Robin & Linda Williams. Also with us, the Royal Academy of Radio Acting; Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman, the News From Lake Wobegon, and sitting in with the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, the irrepressible Andy Stein. All this and more, live this week on a Prairie Home Companion.
