IT'S (ALMOST) APRIL IN NEW YORK

THIS WEEK'S SHOW

Empire State Building
March 29, 2008

This week on A Prairie Home Companion, while packing our giant steamer trunks for the trip to New York, we cobbled together a special Manhattan matinee to get you in the mood for spring. Featuring great American soprano Renée Fleming, the Queen of American folk music Odetta, legendary classical pianist André Watts, and the ambassadors of Scottish traditional music, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain. Also with us, the Royal Academy of Radio Actors: Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman, The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and in Lake Wobegon the high school play is cancelled under student protest.
