This week on A Prairie Home Companion, legendary English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello makes his first appearance on the show at Town Hall in New York City. Also with us: renowned guitarist/ songwriter Tom Rush, who influenced the greats (James Taylor and Garth Brooks) and introduced us to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne. With songs and tunes from jazz pianist Butch Thompson, mandolin maestro Peter Ostroushko, Dakota Dave Hull and the first house band, The Powdermilk Biscuit Band (Adam Granger, Bob Douglas and Mary DuShane).
