This week on A Prairie Home Companion a compilation of three shows from last November at the Fitzgerald Theater, with Pert' Near Sandstone, Kristin Andreassen and Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele who are on to talk about their runaway summer smash hit movie, Steele Away. Ruth Harrison has to deal with a loud cellphone talker at the reference desk, Maria Jette sings a song for Swedes, "O Vermeland," and in Lake Wobegon: the story of an exile, Eugene Rose, who comes home to his family's lake cabin.

Lovingly selected from the earliest archives of A Prairie Home Companion, this heirloom collection represents the music from earliest years of the now legendary show: 1974–1976. With songs and tunes from jazz pianist Butch Thompson, mandolin maestro Peter Ostroushko, Dakota Dave Hull and the first house band, The Powdermilk Biscuit Band (Adam Granger, Bob Douglas and Mary DuShane).
