Start Spreading the News


The tree is lit and the skaters are circling the ice at Rockefeller Center as A Prairie Home Companion rings in our third week of broadcasting live from The Town Hall in the heart of New York's theatre district. With winter upon us, join in as world-renowned performer Yo-Yo Ma and the Assad Brothers join forces for a hot trio performance that is sure to keep out the cold, while the vocal stylings of jazz greats Inga Swearingen and Connie Evingson will add fuel to the fire. Also cozyin' up with us, The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, Royal Academy of Radio Actors Tim Russell, Sue Scott and sound effects man Mr. Fred Newman , plus all the holiday happenings from “the little town that time forgot and the decades cannot improve.”

With songs and tunes from jazz pianist Butch Thompson, mandolin maestro Peter Ostroushko, Dakota Dave Hull and the first house band, The Powdermilk Biscuit Band (Adam Granger, Bob Douglas and Mary DuShane).
